The Naju National Museum opened its doors in November 2013 with an aim to conduct research on the unique culture of our predecessors based on their traces remaining along the Yeongsan River and preserve the valuable artifacts to be passed on to our future generations.

We are a future-oriented museum, communicating with the people using advanced communication technologies and a wide range of media for our exhibits. As the one and only national museum in Jeollanam-do, the Naju National Museum demonstrates the brilliance of the traditional culture of Korea with displays of awe-inspiring artifacts and treasures that were uncovered along the Yeongsan River.

Also, we aim to serve an open space of culture. We not only became the first museum in Korea to implement an open-type storage system that allows visitors to view what’s housed inside. Moreover, we have spacious experiential exhibition halls and opened the rooftop garden to the public for a more enjoyable experience.

We are also dedicated to the development of diverse programs to facilitate people’s understanding of archeology, a discipline that most people are unfamiliar with.

A museum that exists harmoniously with nature where traces of history and culture can be found!
A museum that serves as an open space of culture, history and communication!
A museum that gives an insight into the civilization that flourished along the Yeongsan River!

We at the Naju National Museum will be committed to the promotion of our culture and traditions!
